How to Use BeamReaders Directly Inside DTX Studio

BeamReaders is now integrated directly into DEXIS DTX Studio (version 4.7 and above). That means you can submit a CBCT scan for expert interpretation without ever leaving your imaging software. This saves you time by eliminating logins, manual exports, and uploading files to a different platform.

Here's what you need to know to get started.

What's New

Previously, submitting a scan to BeamReaders required exporting your CBCT from DTX Studio, logging into our VoxDental portal separately, and uploading the file manually.

With the new integration, there's a "Send to BeamReaders" button built directly into DTX Studio. A few clicks and your case is submitted. Reports are returned within 3-5 business days in the US and most of Canada, with a 1-business-day rush option if you need it faster.

Setting up the Connection for the First Time

  1. Ensure you have signed up for BeamReaders and have your email and password handy.
  2. In DTX Studio, click "Collaborate" and select "BeamReaders" from the pop-up menu.
  3. You'll be redirected to DTX Studio Go where you can set up the connection to BeamReaders.
  4. Click "Connect to Partner" next to the BeamReaders icon.
  5. You'll be taken to the BeamReaders log in screen. Log in as you normally would, and your connection will be established.

Ordering Radiology Reports

  1. With your connection established, you can start ordering radiology reports by selecting your patient and clicking "Collaborate".
  2. This time, when you select BeamReaders from the pop-up menu, it will allow you to choose the DICOM file you'd like to send.
  3. Your DICOM file will be securely uploaded to BeamReaders, where you can complete your radiology report request and any add-ons.
  4. Once complete, your report will be available in DTX Studio via the view case button. It will also be available in your BeamReaders VoxDental account, where you can review findings and ask your radiologist follow up questions.

Recently Purchased a DEXIS CBCT?

If you purchased a DEXIS CBCT unit recently, you may be eligible for 30 complimentary BeamReaders reports as part of the partnership. Details and eligibility information are available at dexis.com/en-us/beamreaders.

This is a good opportunity to try the workflow on cases you'd normally interpret on your own, such as implant planning, airway evaluation, impacted teeth, and pre-surgical review, to see how a specialist interpretation compares to your own read. Every radiology report includes a full-volume review for pathosis, findings written to the clinical purpose of the scan, and key images selected to support the diagnosis.
