Live Course: How To Read a Cone Beam CT

A course designed for any dentist who is using CBCT or is thinking of using CBCT in their practice

Dr. Dania Tamimi is pleased to offer a highly interactive 2-day course that is best described as a 3D bony dissection class. She will review the systems and anatomy viewed on a CBCT scan one structure at a time using radiographic images and graphic representations in a systematic manner. Participants will be taught to use a DICOM viewing software to optimally find the anatomy and view it for common pathologic findings in a hands-on approach. The clinical relevance of each anatomic structure evaluated will be reviewed along with how variations of these structures can affect the clinician’s diagnosis and treatment plan. We will review different cases that represent some of the most common indications for CBCT imaging in dentistry, such as implants, impactions, TMD, sleep-disordered breathing and endodontics. This class is limited to 15 participants to ensure effective learning. Suggested reading: Diagnostic Imaging: Oral and Maxillofacial by Koenig, Tamimi, et al. This course represents 15 CE credits. As a practicing dentist and an educator with the Dick Barnes Group, I have to say that the TMD & Sleep Dentistry Imaging Courses Levels I & II have been the best investment that I have made in my continuing education. The material presented was concise, straight forward and very well organized. I cannot say enough about the course. The volume of information that I have taken away from it and have implemented it into my practice has been astonishing.

Drs. Tamimi and Mardini are incredibly knowledgeable in their field not to mention the gift that they both have in educating others. I walked away with more knowledge in the field of dental radiology and a new interest to study more.
