Dr. Shikha Rathi

Dr. Rathi graduated from D.Y. Patil University in Mumbai, India in 2004 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Subsequently she did a year of General Dentistry Internship at the same institute. In 2011, Dr. Rathi graduated from a three-year residency program at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a certification and a M.S. degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. In 2014, Dr. Rathi moved to California to practice alongside Dr. David Hatcher at DDI Imaging Center.

Dr. Rathi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology since 2011 and currently maintains her private practice in Roseville, California.  She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at University of Pacific, San Francisco. Dr. Rathi has published several articles and textbook chapters and has lectured extensively. She is a co-author on “Specialty Imaging: Dental Implants”, a textbook that attempts to bridge the gap between the implantologist and the radiologist and is a recognized reviewer of the journal of Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, Oral Radiology (OOOO).

Dr. Rathi is passionate about Radiology and believes that success lies in details. In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the great outdoors.

Abstract: The intent of this article is to identify clinical presentations that may benefit from an investigation with a cone beam computed tomography scan. These indications include dolichofacial growth pattern, mandibular asymmetry, acquired change in bite, impactions, craniofacial malformations, TMD and patients with suspected sleep disorders.
