Dr. Jie Yang

Dr. Yang is Professor and Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry and Professor of Radiology at School of Medicine. He earned his first dental degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Stomatology and Doctor of Dental Medicine at Temple University. He completed two comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology specialty training programs, one at Peking University, former Beijing Medical University, and another at University of Iowa. He became a Diplomate of American Certifying Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ACBOMR, formerly ABOMR) in 1996.

Dr. Yang was the Past President of International Association of Dento-Maxillo-facial Radiology (IADMFR). He served as a North American Regional Director and Board Member of IADMFR from 2005-2015. Dr. Yang was the Past President of American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) and the Past President of ABOMR. He served as the Councilor for Educational Affairs and Chair of Position Paper Committee of AAOMR. He was the Official Representative of AAOMR to the American Dental Association’s Standards Committee from 2003-2012.

Dr. Yang has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and research abstracts. Many of them were published in prestigious dental, medical, as well as other scientific journals, such as American Journal of Neuroradiology, Investigative Radiology, Radiology, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology (OOOO), and Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, and Nature’s Scientific Report. He has supervised many international visiting scholars and lectured worldwide. He is an editorial board member and reviewer of OOOO and many other professional dental and radiology journals.
