
2025 marked a transformational year for our software platform, VoxDental, and migrated existing customers to it. With a new, patient-centric approach, all your imaging, notes, communications, and reports are accessible within the patient record, providing you an easy-to-use experience that feels as familiar as using your practice management program.
The timeline-based activity feed for each of your patients gives you the complete picture of their imaging journey, while new and updated modules empower communication, collaboration, and support.
Here’s a quick look at what’s new and updated over 2025:
Rad Chats are a core feature of our platform, enabling you to securely message 1-on-1 with your radiologist on cases. We revamped this module to be faster and easier to use allowing you to get any questions about your report answered directly by your BeamReaders radiologist.
In line with simplifying and centralizing communication, we also built a new support system that operates entirely from within VoxDental, marking a monumental shift from previously using a third-party platform and website. This new operating model means that our support agents now have a full picture of where help is needed and can resolve support requests significantly faster.
As patient care can often grow to involve a treatment team of specialists, imaging centers, and other professionals, we know how important it is to share case files and reports with the circle of care, which is why we also made improvements to the collaboration and sharing feature.
We heard from customers that this feature was so useful that we even christened July as “Collaboration Month” at BeamReaders, dedicating a full month of communications around it.
To get you up to speed, Collaboration enables you to share all your patient information, imaging, and radiology reports with another doctor. You simply fill in a couple of quick bits of information, such as the receiving doctor’s email address, and they’ll get an invite to access the patient’s information securely via VoxDental.
Doctor-to-doctor collaboration is fast, free, and saves you tons of time that would otherwise be spent downloading and emailing files or sending patients with a CD/USB stick.
Behind the scenes, VoxDental was built to be more responsive and resilient, taking full advantage of the speed and scale offered by cloud computing. While VoxDental loads and performs faster, one noticeable improvement is in file upload and download speeds. As DICOM files approach one gigabyte in file size, the faster we can receive your files and transmit reports, the more time you’ll save.
VoxDental also was built around integration potential with the imaging software that you use every day. One example is partnering with Carestream Dental to release “Click & Share”, a one-click ‘send to BeamReaders’ button that saves you the time of exporting, zipping, and uploading DICOM files.
We also streamlined our billing and payment system, using Stripe, to offer you simplicity in setup and giving you more options. One such option is to utilize ACH payments, saving you 3% on credit card transaction fees each month. As Stripe has become synonymous with payment processing from many other businesses, you can leverage your existing Stripe Link profile to expedite setup and see all your activity from other vendors.
