Dr. Newaz received his DDS degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Thereafter, he proceeded to complete his postgraduate specialty certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Dr. Newaz had been concurrently practicing dentistry in the Northeast Florida area, with experience in many areas of dentistry including implant dentistry. He currently operates an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology practice within the office network in which he practiced dentistry, performing cone beam CT interpretations for the multispecialty group of doctors in the practice.
Along with radiology, Dr. Newaz is currently pursuing specialization in Orthodontics at the NYU-Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he also prepares teaching material regarding CBCT principles and interpretation for colleagues within the hospital. His research interests include 3D cephalometry and utilization of non-ionizing imaging methods such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for enhanced orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Newaz is a co-author of several peer-reviewed publications and contributes as a reviewer for European Radiology and The Angle Orthodontist.
Outside of the dental realm, Dr. Newaz enjoys playing golf, basketball, and spending time in the great outdoors.
